What Your Friends Mean to You

The only way to have a friend is to be one."... Emerson
Who are your friends? What do they mean to you?
No matter where you go, a friend is there, waiting to meet you. Take a look at how each person showed up in your life today, who they are, and how you interact with them.
It may be a deep friendship or just a passing pleasantry, but each time you give or receive friendly energy, you gain an adaptable and gentle way of being, which carries you through all types of situations, bringing a richer and better you to the world and to yourself.
Speak kindly to someone you have never met before, and don't expect to see again. Smile at someone who passes instead of looking away.
Think kind thoughts about the people you don't like, and even more, about the ones you do. When you soften your point of view, life becomes more friendly, a better place to be.
Be a good friend to yourself, listening to your feelings and thoughts, and thinking of ways to enjoy life more.
Make a note to yourself about thinking in a positive way about who your friends are, and expect to meet them in unexpected places.
"Existence is a strange bargain. Life owes us little; we owe it everything. The only true happiness comes from squandering ourselves for a purpose."... William Cowper
How do you visualize yourself in the process of life? Are you a force, an individual, part of a team? The truth is, you are a combination of all these, and more. When you get in true alignment with your ability to step into the moment, you see more possibilities every minute of the day.
Take up the attitude of being able to change things, and you will gain more of that ability. Pay close attention to the things you can do to make life better for others, and for yourself. There's always an opportunity.
Use the insights you have about where you are to visualize what you want to become, and make a step toward that, right now.
Keep doing it, and your path will begin to open and be lit by unknown forces that are deep within you, waiting to spring forth. You are more than you think you are.
Just one action at a time, you create today, the day you have to work with. By the time "tomorrow" gets here, it will be "today"! Small steps to make use of what you observe will show you the hidden ability you have, to co-create your world. What you pay attention to grows and becomes more powerful, drawing more of what you want into your life.

5 Positive Thinking Exercises Everyone Should Try

The human brain has the capacity to think thousands of thoughts per day, and not all of them are positive or new. Most of what you’re thinking during the day is either a repetition of the previous day or a negative thought, and this happens automatically.

Luckily, you can teach yourself to think positive thoughts and recognize the good in every situation. Repetition is the first step to changing your neural pathways, followed by persistence until you make positive thinking a habit.
Check out these positive thinking exercises that’ll help you become a happier, healthier, and more balanced person inside out.
1. Stop Complaining For A Day
Most people don’t realize how much they complain during the day. Challenge yourself to stop complaining for a whole day and see what happens.
Cutting off complaining is one of the most powerful positive thinking techniques. You’ll start to see the things that are going well in your life and train your brain to notice them all around you.
2. Express Gratitude
Gratitude is one of the simplest positivity exercises that helps you see all the blessings in your life, despite the difficulties. Writing down the things you’re grateful for will open your eyes to all the beauty around you.
There are many studies that confirm gratitude can change your life for the better and even change your brain. Start by writing 3 things you’re grateful for each day and 3 things that went well that day.
3. Read An Inspiring Book
If you want to learn how to be more positive, study the people who are. The key to success with anything is staying focused on the good things, and moving forward when you hit a roadblock.
Many successful and enlightened people document their journey in a book. Get inspired by their stories and see what worked for them to become more positive. Highlight the things and tools that resonate with you, and start implementing them in your own life.
4. Daily Positive Affirmations
Affirmations are daily positive thoughts you repeat to yourself to help your brain learn new patterns. They can be tricky because your mind may resist at first and not believe them, which is why many people quit too soon.
For affirmations to work, you need to believe them. For example, if you want to become wealthy, repeating “I’m a millionaire” won’t help until you truly believe you are. Try saying to yourself: “I’m open to receiving new sources of financial abundance”
5. Practice Mindful Breathing
Breathing is something your body does automatically, but conscious breathing can help you become more positive. Paying attention to every inhale and exhale will bring you to the present moment and calm your mind.
Deep breaths can help reduce your blood pressure and control your stress response. Practice mindful breathing at least 15 minutes per day. As your mind clears, your thoughts will become more positive.
